Using The App
This section describes how to use each feature of the Field Service App, starting with the first-time launch and initial sync to actions and resolving conflict during sync. Details about each of these are covered, with the information organized into groups of related operations where each group focuses on a broad area, as listed as follows:
Calendar options include Day, Week, and Month views and Viewing and Editing of events.
Functionality related to SFM Transactions and Wizards, which includes the following:
SFM processes invoked from the Actions menu (SFM wizards) to edit existing records, create header/child records from existing records, and launch Smart Docs.
Linked SFM Processes launched from edit Standalone Edit SFM processes.
Create New option to launch Standalone Create processes.
Recently Created option to view and edit records created locally.
Data Validation Rules and Formulas.
Manage and Share Attachments.
App-to-App Communication enables customers to export (send) and import (receive) work order data and its detail lines, to and from the third-party app.
Features specific to Work Order objects such as SLA Clocks, Price Calculation, Troubleshooting (Knowledge Base Articles and Product Manuals), Account History, and Product History.
ServiceMax Search (Explore), comprising local search, online search, and download on-demand, and refresh DOD records from Salesforce.
Tasks.
Tools Screen, which includes the following options:
Sync options such as Data Sync, Config Sync, Data Purge, and Smart Docs Queue.
Sign Out, Reset App and About.
Sync Operations are automatically performed or manually initiated such as Initial Sync, Aggressive, Successive, and Scheduled Sync.
Integrated native features such as Map View, Barcode Scanning, and GPS Location Tracking.
Viewing and entering data of different types and impact of Language, Locale, and Time Zone on data displayed.
Checklist, which comprises a library of questions/list of to-do items, and associated answers/responses.
Inventory-Overview, which is a dedicated section for technicians to view their stock, perform stock Transfer, and Locate a part.
