For automation interface information about the Icon property (Icon Available and Icon in the automation interface), see the automation interface topic for Symbol Style in the Related Topics.
This property specifies an alternative icon for an item or diagram.
An alternative icon can be applied through an item's Style tab, or through an applied Stereotype. The alternative icon is used in the Modeler pane, Links Editor and Property Pages.
• If an alternative icon has been specified for an item through the Style tab on the item's Property Pages, that icon is always used.
• If no alternative icon is specified for an item and an applied Stereotype has an alternative Stereotype specified, the Stereotype's alternative icon is used for the item. If many Stereotypes are applied to an item, Modeler uses the icon from the first Stereotype that defines an alternative icon. You can order the Stereotypes on the Items tab of an item's Property Pages.
• Selecting the 'Apply to All Objects of Associated Model Item Types' check box for a Stereotype does not apply the Stereotype's style settings to any items.
When you select an icon to use, you must select a Windows icon (ico extension). The icon file requires a small and large version of the icon.
This property is set through the Style Modification dialog, which you open through the Edit button on the following tabs or dialogs:
• Style tab of a Symbol Style item's Property Pages.
• Style tab of an item's or diagram's Property Pages.
• Style entry of a symbol's View Options dialog.
On the Style Modification dialog, click the Icon tab, click the Select button, and then select the required image. To unset this property, click Delete Image.
The icon is stored in the Model and does not have to be available after selection.
