About Service Board Administration
Service Board is built on Max Platform, and provides an intuitive UI with quick and organized access to the data dispatchers need to schedule and monitor Jobs, manage workloads and schedules, and determine and assign the best Resources for Jobs based on business-specific criteria.
Service Board is available to all ServiceMax users, and empowers users to perform a broad range of field-service management tasks. This guide provides details on how to configure and administer key tasks.
Max Admin and Max Designer are the primary tools that you use to perform a broad range of Service Board administration and configuration tasks:
Configure system-level settings, such as language and time zone.
Define roles, groups, and security access rights.
Organize and maintain Service Teams.
Manage Resources.
Create and manage credentials and job requirements.
Define shifts, shift plans, and holiday schedules.
Create and edit list views.
Define default views and push, browser, phone, and email notifications.

These applications are available only to users who have the System Administrator role.
Dispatchers perform the following ongoing dispatch and resource-management tasks by using Service Board:
Schedule Resources to complete Jobs.
Identify open Jobs.
Manage Crews.
Locate the most appropriate Resources by matching Job and Resource attributes.
Analyze Resource availability and workload by using a Gantt chart and interactive map to view scheduled Appointments, Events, and locations for Resources.

This application is used primarily by dispatchers and is available only to users who have the Dispatcher and Crew Manager roles.
