Provisioning Service Board Tenants for Salesforce Sandbox Org Updates
If you have a Service Board sandbox tenant, you must provision a new tenant when you refresh the associated Salesforce sandbox org.
To provision a Service Board tenant for a Salesforce sandbox org update:
1. In Salesforce, under the DCON Dispatch Management module, in the DCON007 Service Board submodule, set the SET001 Enable Service Board setting to False, and then obtain credentials for the rescue account (such as the system user) for your Service Board tenant and confirm you can successfully log in at https://<hostname>/sec/auth/max.
2. In
Max Admin, on the
System Management (
) launchpad menu, click
System Settings, and then in the list view, click to open the active
System Setting record.
3. On the record page, in the
Authentication tab, clear the
Use External OAuth Provider check box, and then in the top left corner, click
Save and Close (
).
4. Confirm that you can still log into your Service Board tenant as the system user, and then refresh the sandbox org.
5. File a support request to provision a new Service Board sandbox tenant for the refreshed sandbox org, and include the following information:
◦ Credentials for a Salesforce user with the System Administrator profile, or another profile with privileges to complete initial data sync from the sandbox org to the newly provisioned tenant.
◦ The Service Board tenant hostname you want to use, for example, mynewserviceboard.eu.servicemax.io.
| You can reuse the hostname of your previous Service Board tenant. If you request a change to your tenant hostname, the hostname is initially changed to, for example, myserviceboard-20200125.eu.servicemax.io if the current hostname is myserviceboard.eu.servicemax.io and the current date is 25 January 2020. The final hostname for your tenant is provided in the support request. |
6. Use the Export Tenant Customization feature to package and migrate the tenant configuration from your previous Service Board tenant and import the settings and data to the new tenant.
7. Configure,
test, and
run initial sync from the refreshed Salesforce org to the new
Service Board tenant, and then in Salesforce, update the
SET001 Enable Service Board setting to
True.
8. In
Service Board, in the active
System Setting record, select the
Real-Time Sync From Salesforce check box, and then configure and
test real-time sync between the updated Salesforce org and the new
Service Board tenant.
9. Configure predefined Resource Lists and sharing rights to allow dispatchers to create their own views in Service Board, and then configure an external OAuth provider.
10. Use Check Tenant Configuration to check and verify that all settings are properly configured, and then log a support case to decommission your previous sandbox tenant.
