Technical Attribute Template Match Rules
Administrators can create template match rules using Installed Product’s custom fields and define match criteria for Technical Attribute Templates.
This helps the system display the most relevant technical attributes based on Installed Product data and improves data accuracy during service.
Template Match Rules Configuration
You can create and manage template match rules using the
Template Match Rules button available in the
Attribute Templates Lightning tab. The
Template Match Rules button is not available Out-of-the-Box. You must add this custom button in the
Attributes Template object. For more information, see
Adding the Template Match Rules Button to the Attribute Templates Page.
In a rule, you can map Installed Product fields to Product Attribute fields and define a match combination using up to three fields.
Template Match Rules Execution
Template application is driven by the field values defined in the Template Application Criteria. The rules are executed in sequence until the matching template is found for the Installed Product. When the field values of an installed product match the configured template match field values, the corresponding Technical Attribute Template is applied automatically according to the rule details and rule sequence. For more information, see
Creating Technical Attributes in Lightning Mode.
When recording attributes, technicians and other service users see the attributes that best match the Installed Product. The template match rules is applicable for the Core Technical Attributes LWC and in the Task UI that use Technical Attribute Templates.
If no rules are configured, the system continues to match templates based on Product, Product Line, and Product Family.
