Custom Action for UI Component
You can launch Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Salesforce Flows from the wizard steps. ServiceMax packaged components like IB Hierarchy, IB timeline, and so on are listed under Type Managed Components, and custom LWCs and Flows are listed under Custom Components. This enables the admin to decide which LWCs must be part of the lightning record page and which ones can be added as a wizard step such that it is available for the user to access on demand based on the user's persona. For this, you can configure the new custom action called UI-Component and define the required parameters of each of the LWCs. The same custom action SFM can then be associated with a wizard step and launched from the object record page.
*
Both managed and unmanaged components can be configured.
Flows of type Screen-flows and Auto launch flows only are supported.
You must configure the right parameters for each of the LWCs. No error is displayed at runtime for incorrect parameters passed.
The Issue Report and Feedback managed component is accessible as wizard step both on Web and Mobile. All other managed components are supported only on the Web.
Use Cases
The back office users can access the IB Hierarchy view from the Work Order Wizard step to update the status and date installed information for all child components linked with the Work Order component.
The admin can add the Technical Attribute LWC as a wizard step on the Work Order with criteria to show this step only when the assigned service is complete, and the user needs to capture the latest attribute details.
The admin can add a flow to the wizard step and enable it for a user to access at a certain stage of the business process only.
The admin can add the Technical Attribute History LWC as a wizard step on the Work Order so that the service engineer can access it to view attribute history and plan before visiting the customer site.
Customers can utilize their custom lightning components to support their business processes. They can use their Salesforce Flows to gain real-time visibility into activities surrounding the installed products.
Users can access the IB Hierarchy info to understand the parts associated with the Work Order component.
The following LWCs can be configured using the UI-Component custom action with mandatory parameters for each:
