What's Enhanced
Cloning Record Capability Enhancements
A new Allow Clone toggle button is introduced under Section Properties > General in SFM designer to provide administrators with better control over record duplication. This option is enabled by default and appears below the Default Value Mappings property.
Administrators can now prevent users from cloning records, which helps reduce errors caused by unintended data duplication. This is especially useful for transactions where existing system data should not be copied over to newly created records.
For technicians, if the Allow Clone toggle is disabled, the Duplicate button no longer appears in the Go app in the following locations:
The bottom navigation bar on the Extended Edit screen
The bottom navigation bar on the Bulk Edit screen
This update enhances data integrity by providing a configurable option to prevent unintended record cloning, reducing manual corrections in the billing cycle.
For more information, refer to Clone Records.
Enhanced Reminder Alerts for Forced Configuration Sync
The configuration sync process is improved by increasing the reminder frequency, allowing technicians to receive more frequent notifications on the pending forced configuration sync instead of waiting for a full day, as was required previously.
Technicians can now see an indicator on the Run Config Sync setting in the Go app when a configuration sync is due. The indicator remains visible until a successful sync is performed. When a forced configuration sync is due, an alert appears on the base screens (Calendar, Explore, Recents, and Notifications) to confirm the config sync operation. Dismissing this alert immediately triggers the configuration sync.
This update enhances the efficiency of configuration updates, ensuring technicians always operate with the latest settings while minimizing manual intervention.
For more information, refer to Perform Configuration Sync.
Mandatory Field Enforcement for Installed Base Technical Attributes
To ensure that important information is captured accurately, Installed Base Technical Attributes now enforce mandatory field requirements when saving records in the Go app. Technicians must complete required fields before proceeding, aligning the mobile experience with server-side configurations. If the mandatory field is not filled, the row is highlighted with the error message next to it.
For more information, refer to Add Attributes.
Additional Field Details in Installed BaseTree View
Two additional fields are added to the IB tree view to provide more information quickly to users. These two additional fields are displayed under the Installed Product name in the IB tree view for each IB. These two fields are the first two fields supported in the Edit SFM settings. For a two-column page layout, the fields are considered in a zig-zag manner. If there is no supported field or only one supported field, the IB title row height is not altered.
The following fields are not supported to be displayed in the IB tree view:
Long Text Area
Rich Text Area
Encrypted Text Area
Time
For more information, refer to Open IB Tree View.
Improved File Naming Convention for Bulk File Upload
The file naming convention is improved when technicians upload multiple files.
The default title for an attachment is {Process Name}_{DateTime}_{RecordName}. For example, the default file title is PN-0000019278_2020-05-09T034425Z_WO-00002963. If the record name is not defined, for example, form the Go app before the sync, the default title is {Process Name}_{DateTime}.
The file title has a default format Increment_ProcessNumber_{DateTIme}_{RecordName} when adding multiple attachments from the gallery. For example, the default file titles of the files are 1_PN-0000019278_2020-05-09T034425Z_WO-00002963, 2_PN-0000019278_2020-05-09T034425Z_WO-00002963, 3_PN-0000019278_2020-05-09T034425Z_WO-00002963, and so on.
For more information, refer to Add Attachments to Records.
SFM Record Redirection in Background Mode
The Go app now supports the Display Record on Save setting for the Background mode of execution in the Wizard Step properties. This setting has two options:
Target Parent Record: On saving the record successfully, the target record is displayed. For example, when creating a Work Order from a Case, after the Work Order is created, the Work Order record stays in focus.
Source Parent Record: On saving the record successfully, the source record is displayed. For example, when creating a Work Order from a Case, after the Work Order is created, the Case record stays in focus.
For more information, refer to Create Header Records.
Service Task Enhancements
Deep Link Support for Task Screens:
Deep links have been introduced for various Task screens, enabling seamless access from other applications and Mobile Activity Space (MAS). Technicians can also use SFM and OPDoc with deep links. They can open an SFM or an OPDoc linked to a task. Upon saving, the Task status updates to Complete and gets assigned to the user automatically.
SFM Execution on Account or Location Object from a Task:
Technicians can now execute an SFM on the Account or Location object directly from a Task. This enhancement allows users to create or update records efficiently without leaving the Task screen. Technicians can start an SFM/OPDoc Task when the Work Order (WO) Account or WO Location is available. It works for SFMs of type Source to Target, Source to Child, and Standalone Edit.
Enhanced Task Filtering and Search Experience:
Mobile technicians can now quickly filter and search for tasks within the Go app, enabling them to efficiently locate and act on relevant tasks. This enhancement includes improved filtering options, a search experience to find tasks, and a more intuitive task list view. By default, the Task List View displays My Open Tasks (tasks assigned to the logged-in user that are not completed).
Technicians can apply the predefined filters to quickly see all tasks, tasks that are open, overdue tasks, high priority tasks, and recently closed tasks. They can also search tasks based on the task titles that contain the keywords with Exact, Starts With, and Ends With criteria.
Service Tasks from a Configurable Appointment View:
Administrators can now configure the Service Tasks field in the Appointment View screen in the Mobile Console, allowing technicians to access their service tasks directly from the scheduled appointments. This enhancement ensures a streamlined experience for viewing and managing tasks within the appointment workflow.
For more information, refer to Task Management.
