Standard activity (operational) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
Creation
To create a Standard Activity (Operational):
From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to DoDAF, point to Operational, and then click Standard Activity (Operational).
From a Performer (Operational), Activity (Operational) or Standard Activity (Operational): right-click the element, point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click Standard Activity (Operational).
From an OV-5 Operational Activity Decomposition Tree, CV-6 Capability to Operational Activity Mapping or SV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition: click the Standard Activity (Operational) toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
You can convert a Standard Activity (Operational) to an Activity (Operational): right-click the Standard Activity (Operational), point to Convert To, and then click Activity (Operational).
Appearance
When shown on an OV-5 Operational Activity Decomposition Tree, CV-6 Capability to Operational Activity Mapping or SV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition, a Standard Activity (Operational) appears as follows:
When shown on an OV-6b Operational State Transition Description, a Standard Activity (Operational) appears as a Do Standard Activity (Operational) call:
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Standard Activity (Operational):
Implements relationships link a Standard Activity (Operational) to the Activity (Service) elements it implements.
Activity Performed by Performer relationships link a Standard Activity (Operational) to Performer (Operational) and Security Domain elements that perform the Standard Activity (Operational).
Activity Action (Operational) elements link a Standard Activity (Operational) to other Standard Activity (Operational) and Activity (Operational) elements that are invoked by the Standard Activity (Operational).
Activity Maps To Capability relationships link a Standard Activity (Operational) to Capability elements that are mapped to.
An Operation (Operational) message represents a Standard Activity (Operational) on an OV-6c Operational Event-Trace Description.
The following sections provide information about how a Standard Activity (Operational) is used in the model.
