What was new in the UPDM Profiles version 8.3
The UPDM Profiles provided with Modeler 8.3 included the following enhancements.
• New diagram populate commands for populating all missing links on a diagram. To populate all missing links on a diagram: right-click the background of the diagram, point to Populate, point to Links, and then click All.
• UPDM Products that are based on a matrix or table are now opened in your internet browser by default. However, you can set up a model so that these tables and matrices are opened in Microsoft Excel, as was the case in previous releases of Modeler. To set how SysML tables and matrices are opened in a model: in the Packages pane, right-click the Model, point to Tools > Options, click Matrix/Table Generation Format, and then select HyperTextMarkupLanaguage_HTML or Excel_XLS.
• You can now create a Package from an Architectural Description.
• New Find Items button on the Links Editor and Select Type dialogs.
The Find Items button opens the Add New Search Folder dialog for you to specify the Type and Name of the items you want to find. You can specify wildcard searches in the Name box. The results of the search are added to the browser as a new folder.

What was new in the UPDM Profiles version 8.1
This section provides information about what was new in the UPDM Profiles version 8.1:
• The UPDM Profiles provided with Studio 8.0 that supported UPDM 1.1 are no longer provided with Studio 8.1. The names of these profiles were as follows:
◦ UPDM (for MODAF) - used UPDM 1.1/MODAF 1.2 terminology.
◦ UPDM (for DoDAF) - used UPDM 1.1/DoDAF 1.5 terminology.
• The additional panes that were previously created in Studio are no longer created, because UPDM Products are now organized by type in the Diagrams pane, and UPDM elements are now organized by type in the Dictionary pane.
• You can now define default view options and compartments to use for new product diagrams.
• You can now customize a UPDM profile by creating aliases for the UPDM diagrams, items and links. In addition, through lightweight extensions you can create new items and links that are based on UPDM items and links.
