FAQ for Product Service Campaigns
This section lists the frequently asked questions about Product Service Campaign:
1. How should I configure the email notification for the administrator and the end user?
The email notification setting Send Notifications of Success and Failures To: in the PSC Configuration Template is designed to be utilized only by an administrator user, for the purpose of getting notifications and logs for all successful or failing PSC search and PSC output generation process runs. End user notifications are managed on the PSC header record by enabling the Send Email Notification checkbox. This setting ensures that the owner of the PSC record receives an email notification when a PSC search is completed.
2. What is the maximum number of mappings I can define on a PSC Configuration Template screen?
3. Can I modify the preview of the fields in the edit search criteria results?
No, you cannot modify the fields in the Edit Search Criteria results on the preview screen.
4. Can I modify the field columns in the Manage Result Lines Screen?
5. Can I increase the number of results on the preview screen?
No, you cannot increase the number of results in the preview screen. The maximum number of results shown is five.
6. How many lines can be added to the search criteria?
7. Can I edit the search criteria multiple times?
Yes, you can modify the search criteria multiple times as long as search results are not delivered as output records. For more information, see
Editing the PSC Search Conditions.
You can also delete the existing PSC search criteria and create new search criteria if the existing criteria no longer suit your requirements. For more information, see
Deleting PSC Search Criteria.
8. Can I select different pricebooks based on PSC if the delivery method is Opportunity?
Each Product Service Campaign can have a specific Pricebook associated to it for use when generating Opportunities as delivery outputs. This is done by populating the Price Book field on the PSC header record. There is currently no way to associate multiple price books to a single PSC, or different price books to individual PSC result lines. Any price books utilized on a PSC should have a price line entry for the products identified as PSC Search Results, otherwise the delivery engine will not be able to create opportunities with opportunity products successfully for those results.
9. Can I select a different end date for PSC other than the close date in Opportunity, if the delivery method is selected as Opportunity?
Yes.
10. What happens to the transactions when the PSC Configuration Template object mapping is changed?
◦ If a PSC Configuration template is already associated to a product service campaign, and the mapping of that configuration template is changed, the following can be expected:
▪ Any PSC Results lines on the existing PSC that have already had their delivery outputs generated will experience no change.
▪ Any PSC Results lines on the existing PSC that have not had their delivery outputs generated yet will then reflect the change in mapping once those outputs are generated.
◦ Newly created PSCs will reflect the changed mapping.
If a PSC template is already used and if the mapping is changed, then there is no impact. The changes are applied only when a new PSC is created.
11. Can I use both asset field-based search conditions and technical attributes-based conditions in a single search criteria?
Yes, you can use both types of search conditions and define an operator — AND or OR. This defines the overall search criteria. For more information, see
Defining the PSC Search Expression.
12. I want to create a PSC for a set of assets, so I want to upload a set of asset serial numbers to create my PSC search criteria. How do I do that?
