Inserting Start Page Controls
To customize a Start page, you can insert any number of helpful controls, which are described in the following table.

Six controls always display the same data, regardless of the page on which they are inserted: Alerts, Announcements, Favorites, Links, Recent Files, and Workflow. All other controls have settings that can differ each time that they are inserted on a page.
Control
Description
Alerts
Provides for viewing all alerts that have been sent to you. When you click an alert, the email message associated with the alert opens. When you click the icon for the associated table type, the corresponding System file opens, and the associated data is shown. For more information, see Inserting an Alerts Control.
Announcements
Provides for viewing and inserting announcements. For more information, see Inserting an Announcements Control.
Favorites
Provides for inserting links to favorite files. When you click a file name in this control, the file opens. For more information, see Inserting a Favorites Control.
Graph
Provides for inserting a specified graph. For more information, see Inserting a Graph Control.
Incidents
Provides for inserting a link for creating a FRACAS incident for a particular System Tree Items record. When you click the link, the corresponding System file opens, and the newly inserted incident is selected. For more information, see Inserting an Incident Control.
Links
Provides for inserting links to Internet resources. When you click a link in this control, your browser starts and opens the web address specified for the link. For more information, see Inserting a Links Control.
Open File
Provides for inserting links for opening specified files. When you click a file name in this control, the file opens. For more information, see Inserting an Open File Control.
Recent Files
Provides links for quickly opening any of the last 10 files you viewed. When you click a file name in this control, the file opens. For more information, see Inserting a Recent Files Control.
Report
Provides for viewing the specified report. When you click the name of the Report Design or Report Binder file in this control, the report is generated and opens in a new window. For more information, see Inserting a Report Control.
Rich Text
Provides for inserting and formatting rich text. For more information, see Inserting a Rich Text Control.
Table
Provides for inserting a display-only FRACAS table. The tables available for insertion include all FRACAS tables turned on in the Project properties. For more information, see Inserting a Table Control.
Dashboard
Provides for viewing a specified dashboard. When you click the dashboard name, the dashboard opens. For more information, see Inserting a Dashboard Control.
Workflow
Provides for viewing all outstanding workflow items assigned to you. When you click an item, the email message associated with the item opens. When you click the icon for the associated table type, the corresponding System file opens, and the corresponding record is selected. For more information, see Inserting a Workflow Control.
If you do not see the customization area, which displays the buttons for inserting controls, click Customize in the upper right corner to display this area.
You can now begin inserting controls on the page.

Inserting a large number of controls on a page, particularly controls for graphs, and tables, can adversely affect performance.
While all controls are expanded by default, clicking the arrow button in the right corner of a control’s title bar switches between collapsing and expanding it.
Once a control is inserted, you can modify, refresh, and delete it. You can also set up the layout of the controls on the page. If necessary, you can modify the page, which consists of deleting, renaming, or arranging it. For more information, see:
