Inserting a Graph Control
When customizing a Start page or a dashboard, you can insert a Graph control for each graph that you want to display. The default refresh rate for a graph is 60 minutes.
1. If necessary, click Customize to view the customization area.
2. Click the Graph button.
The control is inserted on the page. You can now set up the graph that you want it to display.
3. In this control, click Set up the Graph control. The Control Settings Wizard starts. The page that appears depends on whether multiple Projects and System files exist.
If the Select Project page appears, go to step 4.
If the Select System page appears, go to step 5.
If the Select Graph page appears, go to step 6.
4. On the Select Project page, select the Project that contains the Graph Template file and click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether the Project contains multiple System files.
If the Select System page appears, go to step 5.
If the Select Graph page appears, go to step 6.
5. On the Select System page, select the System file that you want to use to generate the graph and click Next. The Select Graph page appears.
6. On the Select Graph page, select the Graph Template file for the graph that you want to display and click Next.
Currently, the Graph control can display only FMEA, FRACAS, and FTA graphs.
The page that appears next depends on whether you need to specify filter parameters or select a record.
If the Select Filter Parameters page appears, go to step 7.
If the Select Record page appears, go to step 8.
If the Set Refresh Rate page appears, go to step 9.
7. On the Select Filters page, specify values for each filter parameter and click Next.
The page that appears depends on whether you need to select a record.
If the Select Record page appears for an FMEA graph, go to step 8.
If the Set Refresh Rate page appears, go to step 9.
8. On the Select Record page, do the following:
a. Select the record that you want to use to generate the graph.
For an FMEA graph, you select an FMEA from the FMEA Table.
For an FTA graph, you click the browse button to select a gate from the FTA Table. The window that opens displays only top gates by default. However, you can click the arrow button to the left of a gate identifier to show and hide child gates. After you select the desired gate, you click the green checkmark to return to the Select Record page, where the gate is now shown.
b. Click Next. The Set Refresh page appears.
9. On the Set Refresh Rate page, enter the time interval in minutes for refreshing the graph and click Next. The Select Text page appears.
10. For Control Title, enter the text that you want to display on the control; then, click Next. The Wizard Complete page appears.
11. Click Finish.
The control is updated with the specified graph and control title. If the graph cannot be shown, a window opens, indicating why this is the case.
