Inserting an Incident Control
When customizing a Start page, you can insert an Incidents control. You use this control to insert FRACAS incidents for a particular item in a system tree. During the setup of this control, you select the Project, System file, configuration, and System Tree Items record for which to insert incidents and specify text for the control title and incident insertion link.
1. If necessary, click Customize to view the customization area.
2. Click the Incidents button.
The control is inserted on the page. You can now set up the System Tree Items record for which to insert incidents.
3. In this control, click Set up the Insert Incident control. The Control Settings Wizard starts and displays the Select Project page.
4. Select the Project in which you want to insert incidents and click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether the Project contains multiple System files or a single System file with multiple system tree configurations
If the Project contains multiple System files, the Select File page appears. Go to step 5.
If the Project contains one System file with multiple configurations, the Select Configuration page appears. Go to step 6.
If the Project contains one System file with only one configuration, the Select System Tree Item page appears. Go to step 7.
5. On the Select File page, select the System file in which to insert incidents and click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether this System file has multiple system tree configurations.
If it has multiple configurations, the Select Configuration page appears. Go to step 6.
If it has only one configuration, the Select System Tree Item page appears. Go to step 7.
6. On the Select Configuration page, select the appropriate configuration:
a. Click the browse button. A selection window opens.
b. Select the configuration that contains the System Tree Items record for which to insert incidents.
c. Click the green checkmark to close the window.
d. Click Next. The Select System Tree Item page appears. Go to step 7.
7. On the Select System Tree Item page, select the item for which you want to insert incidents:
a. For System Tree Item, click its browse button. A selection window opens.
b. Select the item.
c. Click the green checkmark to close the window. The selected item is now shown for System Tree Item.
d. Click Next. The Select Image page appears.
If you do not specify an image file on this page, the default image for this link is used.
8. If you do not want to use a custom image, click Next and go to step 9. Otherwise, if you do want to use a custom image:
a. Select Show custom image. The Browse button in the lower right corner of the page becomes available.
b. Click Browse. The Open window opens.
c. Use the options provided in this window to select the image file you want to use. Both JPG and PNG files are supported.
d. Click Open. The selected image is now shown on the Select Image page.
e. Click Next. The Select Text page appears.
9. On the Select Text page, specify labels for the control title and link:
a. For Control Title, enter the text to display on the control.
For example, you might enter Incident Insertion for X, where X is the name of the tree item.
b. For Link Text, enter the text to display for the incident insertion link.
For example, you might enter Insert incident for X, where X is the name of the tree item.
c. Click Next. The Wizard Complete page appears.
10. Click Finish.
The control is updated with the link, any custom image, and the specified title and link text. You can now click the link or the image to insert an incident for this Project, System file, configuration, and tree item. If the incident cannot be inserted, a window opens, indicating why this action failed.
