Inserting a Dashboard Control
When customizing a Start page, you can insert a View Dashboard control. You use this control to view a dashboard from the page. To accomplish this, you insert the control, select the dashboard, and specify the text for the control and link labels.
1. If necessary, click Customize to view the customization area.
2. Click the View Dashboard button.
The control is inserted on the page. You can now set up the dashboard that you want it to display.
3. In the control, select Options > Settings. The Control Settings Wizard starts and displays the Select Dashboard page.
4. For Select Dashboard, select the dashboard you want to display; then, click Next. The Select Image page appears.
If you do not specify an image file on this page, the default image for this link is used.
5. If you do not want to use a custom image, click Next and go to step 6. Otherwise, if you do want to use a custom image:
a. Select Show custom image. The Browse button in the lower right corner of the page becomes available.
b. Click Browse. The Open window opens.
c. Use the options provided in this window to select the image file you want to use. Both JPG and PNG files are supported.
d. Click Open. The selected image is now shown on the Select Image page.
e. Click Next. The Select Text page appears.
6. On the Select Text page, specify the labels for the control title and link:
a. For Control Title, enter the text to display on the control.
b. For Link Text, enter the text to display for the link.
c. Click Next. The Wizard Complete page appears.
7. Click Finish.
The control is updated with the link, any custom image, and the specified title and link text. You can now click the link or image to view the dashboard.
