Working With Users in Organizations
Users can be added to Zinc Organizations in the following ways:
Domain-Based Auto-Add: Users whose email domains are owned by Organizations are automatically added when they first sign in. To disable this functionality, contact Zinc Customer Support.
Administrative Console: Users with the Organization Admin or Team Admin roles can add users from this page.
External Directory Integration: Currently, there can only be one Active Directory (AD) or Okta sync per Organization.
*
Domain-Based Auto-Add can be enabled for only one Organization per email domain.
Users who have the Broadcaster role cannot directly add users to Organizations. Only Organization Admins can remove users from Organizations.
This guide provides details on how to use the Administrative Console to manage users in Organizations. For more information on external directory integration, see About User and Group Integration in Zinc for Integrators.
When admins add existing Zinc users to Organizations, membership is immediate. Employees who are not currently on Zinc receive email invitations to join, and are automatically added to your Organization when they sign up. The Users tab in the Administrative Console also includes non-Zinc users who have been added to your Organization, but have not yet signed up for Zinc. in the Users list, the Join Date value for these people is Pending Signup. You can choose to remove these non-Zinc users from your Organization at this time. However, if a previously removed user signs up for Zinc, they are not added to your Organization.
You can add users to more than one Organization. However, when you remove these users from some but not all of their Organizations, they are deleted from all associated Official Groups for those Organizations, as well as all Group Conversations that include at least one other Organization member with an email domain that matches that of the removing Organization. These users are then signed out of Zinc, and must sign back in.
When you remove users that are members of only one Organization, if their email domain matches that of the removing Organization, they are deleted from Zinc, removed from the associated People Directory, and removed from all Group Conversations. Removed users whose email domains do not match that of the removing Organization (for example, contractors or personal email addresses) are deleted from all Official Groups and all Group Conversations that include at least one user whose email domain matches that of the removing Organization. These users are then signed out of Zinc and must sign back in.
