About Organizations
Organizations are the largest, broadest Zinc entity, and can contain any number of companies, teams and individuals. You can create multiple Organizations within a company, and employees can belong to more than one Organization. This capability allows you to flexibly create customizable networks of workers that are not restricted by email domains or locations, and is especially useful to ease complex communication for scenarios that involve multiple companies and partners. Organizations have a shared People Directory to help users easily discover and connect with the most relevant contacts for their work, even if they do not know their full names or email addresses, which makes cross-team and inter-company communication seamless.
Large companies can use Organizations to easily distribute control of Zinc across different divisions or business units of their workforce. For example, a nationwide hotel chain with properties located across the country might sometimes need to communicate with staff at every property, and have more frequent needs for essential worker coordination at individual locations. In this scenario, Zinc Organizations can make it easy to distribute controls and oversight so that individual properties are empowered to self-manage their groups of Zinc users.
Projects that involve multiple companies often have a need for seamless inter-company communication across groups of users with different email domains, such as contractors and partners. For example, a construction company that is working on a large project might need to coordinate with several different contractors project with a roster of employees that changes weekly. In this scenario, Zinc Organizations can make cross-company connections between contractors and suppliers, for example, seem as though they were from the same company, so that everyone can focus on delivering great work.
