Working With Credential Categories
Credentials are grouped into credential categories. You can use the predefined credential categories that are included in Service Board and also create custom categories to meet your organization’s needs. After you configure credential categories, the next step is to define the associated credentials. You can then specify technician qualifications, which include credentials, expertise, and skill levels used to calculate Resource recommendations.
The following predefined credential categories are included with Service Board:
Certifications: Certifications for specific products, tools, or tasks.
Product Expertise: Skills, knowledge and experience with specific installed products.
Mandatory Resource: Required Resources for specific installed products, locations, and accounts.
Resource Constraint:Resources that must not be assigned to specific accounts, locations, or installed products.
Resource Preference: Preferred Resources for specific Jobs, installed products, locations, and accounts.
Resource Travel Time: Travel time needed for Resources to travel to Job locations.
Skills: Hands-on experience and training in specific techniques or tasks.
Travel Authorization: Authorizations for Resources to travel to specific locations.
You can configure additional credential categories to meet your organization’s unique needs, and configure Service Board to use both predefined and custom credential categories in Resource recommendations. For example, you can define a credential category for security clearances required to work onsite at a specific service location.
