Scheduling Events
You can create Events for activities that are unrelated to Jobs such as meetings or training sessions. Recurring Events are supported.

You cannot create Events for Crews.
You cannot create Events for Resources associated with deactivated users. If you have a need to invite such users to Events, contact your Service Board system administrator.
The maximum duration for Salesforce Events is 14 days. If you have a need to create Events longer than 14 days, contact your Service Board system administrator.
To create Events:
1. Do one of the following:
In the Scheduler tab, in the Calendar toolbar, click Create Event ().
On the Scheduler Calendar, double-click in a Resource row at a time when you want to schedule an Event.
2. In the Create Event dialog box, complete the fields as follows, and then click Create.

Resource assigned to the Event. Read-only when you click in a Resource row to create Events, or editable when you click the Create Event icon.

Read-only field that is auto-populated based on the ASSIGNED TO RESOURCE value after Events are created and saved.
SCHEDULE
ALL-DAY EVENT
Select this check box to create an all-day Event.

Travel times for all-day Events are not calculated.
RECURRING EVENT
Select this check box to create a recurring Event and specify the following:
REPEAT: Select Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
REPEAT EVERY: Select the number of days between recurrences, from 1 to 31.
RECURRENCE START: Specify the date for the first recurring Event in the series.
RECURRENCE END: Specify the date after which Events no longer recur.
EVENT START
Date and time when the Event starts.
EVENT END
Date and time when the Event ends.
LOCATION
LOCATION
Physical address where the Event is located.
ADDRESS
Auto-populates with a city and map thumbnail based on the value in the LOCATION field.
TRAVEL TIME TO LOCATION
Time required to travel to the Event location. Auto-calculated from the location for the assigned Resource to the Event location.
TRAVEL TIME BACK FROM LOCATION
Time required to travel back from the Event location. Auto-calculated from the Event location to the next scheduled location for the assigned Resource.

When you click Create Event () on the Scheduler Calendar, Event start and end times are auto-calculated based on your current system time. When you double-click on Calendar rows for Resources, start times are set at the time where you click. In both cases, Event duration is based on the Default Event Duration field value in User Preferences.
If configured, Service Board automatically adjusts Event start times in cases where Travel Time to Location values for new Events conflict with scheduled times for previous Appointments or Events in the same work shift.
