Creating Appointments
*
By default, Appointments correspond to Salesforce Events. The maximum duration for Salesforce Events is 14 days. If you need to create Appointments longer than 14 days, contact your system administrator.
To create Appointments:
1. In the Job List, click one or more Jobs, and then drag and drop the selected items into the Calendar row for the Resource or Crew that you want to dispatch.
*
You cannot bulk-dispatch Jobs to Crews or Resources associated with deactivated users.
Jobs in an end status or that were created from Projects are not supported for bulk dispatch.
By default, no Appointments are created for selected Jobs with open Appointments assigned to other Resources during bulk dispatch. Your system administrator can enable the Enable Appointment Creation for Batch-Dispatched Jobs setting, so that you can reassign such Jobs to the selected Resource.
Bulk Job dispatch is supported only in the Scheduler tab, either from the currently selected Job List or from search results.
When you select Jobs for bulk dispatch from multiple pages in the Job List or search results, and then drag and drop the Jobs from the currently selected page to a Resource row, the Jobs you selected on other pages remain selected, but are not dispatched.
2. In the Dispatch Job dialog box, update field values for Appointments and Jobs as needed, and then click Save.
*
The Dispatch Job dialog box can include editable settings for Appointments only, Jobs only, or both Jobs and Appointments. By default, this dialog box is disabled, and Crew appointments are not supported.
If configured, Service Board automatically adjusts Appointment start times in cases where Travel Time to Location values for new Appointments conflict with scheduled times for previous Appointments or Events in the same work shift.
If configured, you can click the Actual Time slider button to view live updates that show the actual times when technicians begin work on Appointments. You can then easily make adjustments when traffic conditions or unexpected situations cause delays.
