App Administration
The App Administration Module contains options related to the general administration of ServiceMax. The configuration options in this group are applicable to features and apps across the ServiceMax Suite. For technical details of ServiceMax Configuration architecture and how App Administration options fit into that, see section ServiceMax Configuration Overview.
The App Administration group includes the following options, of which the oft-used options are Configuration Profiles and Translations:
Modules: Helps to manage ServiceMax Modules, the highest level grouping of related ServiceMax functionality. You will typically use this to see the list of modules andthe list of submodules for any specific module.
Submodules: Helps to manage ServiceMax Submodules, the child-level grouping of ServiceMax functionality under ServiceMax Modules, covering a specific feature. You will typically use this to see the list of submodules for a selected module, and the list of settings for any specific submodule.
Settings: Helps to manage ServiceMax Configuration Settings, which are configurable parameters of type key-value pairs, grouped under submodules. You will typically use this to see the list of settings for a selected submodule under a module, to know the type of setting (global/group).
Trigger Controls: Helps to manage the execution of triggers which are part of ServiceMax managed package. The triggers will be executed only when this option is enabled.
Configuration Profiles: Helps to manage ServiceMax Configuration Profiles, which represent the collection of the values of all the applicable ServiceMax Configuration Settings, for all or groups of ServiceMax users. You will use this to create custom ServiceMax profiles, to see the list of Salesforce profiles associated with a specific ServiceMax group profile, to find the ServiceMax group profile, if any, associated with a specific Salesforce profile, and to edit the values of settings for any custom ServiceMax profiles.
Translations: To manage the translations of labels and messages configured in SFM Transactions, SFM Wizards, SFM Searches, and Inventory Processes. You will use this to see/override the existing translations and to add new translations.
