Board type (dictionary item)

A Board Type describes:
• Processors - their types and properties and the memory address for any on-board Memory.
• Memory - their types and properties and their memory address.
• Board IO Devices - their types and properties and their memory address.
When a Board is linked to a Board Type, that Board uses the Processor, Memory and Board IO Device definition of the Board Type. A Board Type can be linked to many Boards.

You can create a Board Type through the context menu of a Package: right-click the Package, and select New > Proprietary > System Architecture Model > Board Type.
In the Modeler panes, a short-cut symbol on the Board Type's icon indicates that the item is a stub. For more information, see Stubs.

In addition to the owning Package or Model, a Board Type can be linked to the following items.
Board - The linked Board uses the Board IO Devices, Memories and Processors defined by the Board Type.
