Creating Conversations About ServiceMax and Salesforce Objects
You can create or join contextual Conversations about predefined and custom ServiceMax and Salesforce objects in ServiceMax or in Zinc mobile or desktop apps, and add teammates at any time. During contextual Conversations, you can send photos and videos, share your location, and switch from text messaging to voice or video calling as needed. Contextual Conversations appear in Zinc Desktop and Zinc Web as regular Group Conversations. After you start a contextual Conversation, you can change its Group name for easier viewing and retrieval later on.
To create Conversations about ServiceMax and Salesforce objects:
1. Do one of the following:
In ServiceMax, navigate to the object or record you want to discuss with colleagues, and then in the right pane, under Actions, click Zinc Link to automatically start a new Group Conversation in Zinc Desktopor Zinc Web.

To join previous contextual Group Conversations about an object or record, click Join Group to view and join the discussion.
In Zinc Mobile, Zinc Desktop, or Zinc Web, on the Conversations Tab (), tap or click New Message (), and then enter the Work Order number you want to discuss.
2. Select teammates to add to your Group Conversation from the list of suggested users generated by ServiceMax, or search for and select them in Zinc.
To add people to an existing Group Conversation, navigate to the Conversation Details screen by clicking its name or information icon, and then tap or click Add Users.

You can add people who do not have Zinc Mobile or Zinc Desktop installed, as long as they have valid Zinc user accounts.
3. To rename the Group Conversation, do one of the following:
In ServiceMax, Zinc Desktop, or Zinc Web, in the top right corner of the Group Conversation, click Information (), and then click Edit Name.
In your Zinc Mobile, tap the arrow next to the Group name, and then tap Edit Name.
4. In ServiceMax, to open Zinc in a separate window, in the top right corner of the Conversation pane, click New Window ().
5. In Zinc Mobile, within the Group Conversation, do any of the following:
Tap this..
To do this...
Start a voice or video call.
Take and send a photo.
Send a photo or video from your camera roll.
Send a file.
Share your location.
