Differences Between FSA and Go Apps
The following sections explain the key differences between FSA and Go apps.
Download of Pricing Data
There is a difference in the way pricing data is downloaded in the Go app. Go does not download pricing data during the initial sync. For more information, refer to the Download Data section.
Installed Base
Go does not download all the IB or location information to plot the IB tree. For more information, refer to the IB Data Download section.
Go plots only 3 levels of IBs in the IB tree. For more information, refer to the IB Tree View section.
Checklists
Go allows a technician to view and navigate to the skipped sections of a checklist. For more information, refer to the Include Skipped Questions section.
Output Documents
Go iOS and Android do not support repeating headers or footers in output document PDF when the PDF is generated on the mobile device. For more information, refer to the Generate Output Document section. The following list explains the alternatives:
Configure your org such that the output document is generated on the Salesforce server. An active internet connection is required for this. For more information, refer to the Generate Output Document in the Server section.
Enable the Go user to preview and sign the output document in offline mode and then forward the file to the Salesforce server for PDF creation. This way, the Go user can work offline and yet have a PDF that contains a repeating header or footer. This behavior follows FSA iOS / Android. This enhancement is now included in ServiceMax Go v6.0. To know more about the feature, refer to Generate Output Document.
JS Code Snippets
There is a difference in the way code snippets are executed in the Go app as compared to the FSA app. The response structure of the APIs is consistent in both. However, they may work differently based on how the API is implemented in the custom code.
