About Service Board AI
*
Service Board AI is a separately licensed Production Beta feature in Service Board 25.1. The feature is disabled by default, and you must purchase a ServiceMax AI license before you can enable this functionality.
Service Board AI provides users with the capability to schedule Jobs by using AI Actions. By default, one preconfigured AI Action, Schedule Immediately with AI action is available on the Job Action Menu on the Scheduler Job List. This action assigns a Job as quickly as possible to an available and qualified Resource. This default action can be used without modification or customized, and you can also define custom AI Actions.
Schedule Immediately With AI Action
This AI Action expedites automated Job dispatch based on specific constraints and requirements to create a preliminary schedule. The automation operates as follows.
1. Use the values configured in the default active Optimization Setting record to obtain Job and Resource-related data.
2. Generate scheduling options that start from the currently selected date on the Calendar and extend to the end date of the Scheduling Horizon (in days) value configured in the relevant Optimization Setting record. If the currently selected date is earlier than the current day, the schedule begins on the current day. If Preferred Start and Preferred End values are configured in the selected Job, the schedule is based on these values. However, the schedule does not reflect these preferred values if they are in the past.
3. Generate schedule options based on the related Resources based on the following Resource matching rules.
Rule
Description
Specified Resources in the AI Instruction
When an AI Instruction requests specific Resources, whether described in plain text or SQML, Service Board AI prioritizes assigning the task to those Resources.
No Specified Resources in the AI Instruction
If the AI Instruction has no requests for specific Resources, Service Board AI attempts Job dispatch by using the currently selected Resource List.
No Resources for the Previous Two Items
If no Resources that fit the previous two conditions are available, Service Board AI attempts Job dispatch by using Resources relevant to the Territory configured in the Job.
No Territory
If the Job has no configured Territory value, Service Board AI attempts Job dispatch by using the currently logged-in user’s default Resource List.
Service Board AI uses the data from these rules in combination with the AI Instructions configured for the Schedule Immediately with AI action to schedule and dispatch the Job.
*
Automated dispatch performance can vary based on the number of available Resources in the Resource List and the Scheduling Horizon (in days) value configured in the relevant Optimization Setting record. If both of these values are excessively large, more data is sent to the LLM, and AI generation time improves.
