An asset represents a product unit or a collection of product units delivered to a customer and installed at the customer’s location. Depending on the tracking needs of the organization, assets are tracked using a serial number, a lot/batch number, or an asset tag. Asset record drives coverage and entitlement, supply chain, and service delivery activities.
