Warning Messages
Warning messages appear in Service Flow Manager (SFM) Delivery when Data Validation Rules (DVRs) detect conditions that may require attention but do not always prevent the record from being saved. Warning messages notify users about potential issues and allow them to review or update the data before saving the record.
Unlike error messages, warning messages may allow the record to be saved depending on the configuration and user action.
SFM Lightning Delivery
In SFM Lightning Delivery, warning messages are displayed using a warning icon and a warning banner anchored at the top of the page.
The Warning icon appears next to the Save button. The total warning count is displayed with a "(n) Review of the warning messages" message, where n is the number of warnings.
Selecting the Warning icon expands the warning banner and displays the list of warning messages.
Each warning entry may include a hyperlink that navigates to the corresponding field in the header or child section.
For warnings that occur in child sections:
The message displays the child tab name followed by the field name.
If a validation rule involves multiple fields, the child tab name appears once followed by the list of participating fields.
Warning messages allow users to review the data and decide whether to correct the values or continue saving the record.
*
If any warning message is ignored and a Quick Save is performed, the warning message list is erased. All warning messages are re-validated on every Quick Save or Save action, regardless of whether the warning was previously displayed.
To enable real-time validation, enable the Real-Time Data Validation option in the SFM Designer: SFM Designer > Layout Editor > Page Properties > General. For more information about how this setting affects validation behavior, see Real-Time DVR Setting Behavior for Warnings.
By default, there is no option to confirm DVR warning messages for an SFM. To enable the option to acknowledge warning messages, see Warning Message Acknowledgement.
Classic Theme
In the Classic theme, warning messages are validated on every Save or Quick Save action, regardless of whether the warning was previously displayed.
When a warning condition is triggered, a message dialog is displayed with the warning details.
The dialog displays the warning message configured in the validation rule.
The message may reference fields from the header or child sections.
The dialog provides options to Save or Cancel the action.
You can review the warning message and choose one of the following options:
Click Save to ignore the warning and continue saving the record.
Click Cancel to return to the record and update the values.
Warning messages are re-evaluated each time you perform a Save or Quick Save action.
Lightning Theme
In the Lightning theme, warning messages are displayed in a warning banner anchored at the top of the page.
The banner displays a message such as “Review the warning messages (n) or click on Save to continue”, where n represents the number of warnings.
The warning banner is scrollable and can be expanded or collapsed.
The banner lists all warning messages detected in the record.
Each warning entry includes a hyperlink that navigates to the corresponding field.
You can review the warning messages and choose one of the following actions:
Click a warning message link to navigate to the associated field and update the value.
Click Save to ignore the warnings and continue saving the record.
*
If any warning message is ignored and Quick Save actions are performed, the warning message list is erased. All the warning messages are validated on every Quick Save or Save action, irrespective of the warning message appearing once before. Click Save to ignore the warning messages.
