Adding a Service Task to Work Plan
You can add service tasks to a Work Plan under General Tasks or Service Products.

If you create a task using external tools, you must provide values for mandatory fields such as Task Title, Sequence, and Status.
To add a service task to a Work Plan:
1. Open the work order for which you want to add the service task.
2. Click the Service Products & Tasks tab.
Associated service products, service tasks, or work plans, if any, are displayed.
3. Under Service Products section, go to a Service Product and expand a Work Plan. Or, from a General Task section, expand the Work Plan.
The existing service tasks added to the Work Plan is displayed.
4. Click the Settings icon and select Add Task.
The Task modal window is displayed.
5. Enter the information in the details tab as described in the following table.
Field
Description
Fields with * are mandatory.
Task Name*
Enter a name for the task.
Mandatory Task
Select this checkbox if you want this task to be completed mandatorily as a part of the completion of work order.
Status Options
Select additional statuses based on the life cycle of the task. For example, In Progress.
Two values - New and Complete - are selected by default. You cannot remove these values.
Start Date Time
You can set the Start Date time of the task, or leave it blank.
Assign To
Assign the task to a service group member or a service team. The following are the options:
Assign the task to yourself: Click Assign to self to assign the task to yourself. This option can be used by the service engineer executing the task.
Assign to a service engineer: Select Service Group Member/ Technician in the dropdown menu and then select a service engineer.
Assign to a service team: Select Service Team in the dropdown menu and then select a service team.
Due Date
Select an intended completion date for the task.
Priority
Select the priority for the task.
Estimated Duration
Enter the estimated duration for the task in hours and minutes.
Create labor line on work order when status is changed to complete
Select this checkbox to create labor lines after the task is completed. The Labor Lines are the Work Detail Lines of the Line Type, Labor, which include information about the service tasks and time consumed by technicians to complete those tasks.
6. Click the Linked Activity drop-down and add any of the following activities:

7. Go to the Instructions tab and add instructions that you want to provide to the service engineer executing the task. You can add photos, email addresses, bullets, numbered list, and so on.
8. In the Reference Files section, add any attachments for the task as required.
To add an attachment, click Upload Files and upload the file.
OR
Drop the file you want to attach in the Reference Files section.

You can add multiple files. However, the total size of the attached files must not exceed 800 MB.
All the supported file types with Salesforce are supported.
After uploading a file, you can edit the file name using the Edit icon next to the file. Also, you can delete the file.
The service tasks is added to the Work Plan.
