Operational activity (UPDM - NAF aliases)
Creation
To create an Operational Activity:
From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to NAF, point to Operational, and then click Operational Activity.
From a Node, Standard Operational Activity or Operational Activity: right-click the element, point to New, point to NAF, and then click Operational Activity.
From an NOV-5 Operational Activity Hierarchy, NCV-6 Operational Activity to Capability Mapping or NSV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition: click the Operational Activity toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
*
A Node Operation message represents an Operational Activity on an NOV-6c Operational Event-Trace Description.
You can convert an Operational Activity to a Standard Operational Activity: right click the Operational Activity, point to Convert To, and then click Standard Operational Activity.
Appearance
When shown on a NOV-5 Operational Activity Hierarchy, NCV-6 Operational Activity to Capability Mapping or NSV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition, an Operational Activity appears as follows:
When shown on an NOV-6b Operational State Transition Description, an Operational Activity appears as a Do Operational Activity call:
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to an Operational Activity:
Implements relationships link an Operational Activity to the Service Function elements it implements.
Is Capable Of Performing relationships link an Operational Activity to Node and Security Domain elements that perform the Operational Activity.
Operational Activity Action elements link an Operational Activity to other Operational Activity and Standard Operational Activity elements that are invoked by the Operational Activity.
Maps To Capability relationships link an Operational Activity to Capability elements that are mapped to.
A Node Operation message represents an Operational Activity on an NOV-6c Operational Event-Trace Description.
The following sections provide information about how an Operational Activity is used in the model.
