To calculate the failure rate for a mechanical part, in the Parts Table, you select Mechanical Part for Category and then select the type of mechanical part for Subcategory. Regardless of the calculation model selected for the parent assembly, the parameters shown in the Prediction Data pane for this part are those required by the Mechanical model.
