Viewing and Modifying Properties for a Report Object
When a Report Design file is open in the Report Designer, you can view and modify the properties for any report object in the auto-hide Properties window. By default, this window operates in auto-hide mode. For more information, see Auto-Hide Windows.
If the Properties tab is visible in the border of the window, do the following:
1. Place the mouse cursor over the Properties tab to slide the Properties window into view.
2. In the Report Design file, click any object or report section heading to view its properties in the Properties window.
If the Properties tab is not visible, do one of the following to open and activate the Properties window.
Right-click the object and select Properties.
Click the object and then select Views > Properties.
Each type of object has its own set of properties. For example, the properties for a data field are very different from the properties for a box or a line. Similarly, the properties for different types of data fields vary, making the properties for a numeric field differ from those for a date/time field.
You can modify the properties for an object in the same manner as you modify file properties and user options. For more information, see Setting Properties and User Options. Because some objects have many properties, the properties available for an object are organized under category headings by default. You can view properties in alphabetical order rather than by categories. For more information, see Setting Properties and User Options.
