Threshold Value
The following table describes the properties that can appear under Threshold Value in the Properties window for a report object. These properties appear when a numeric or currency field is selected. Additionally, these properties appear for text fields that have been attached to a list. In these cases, the values assigned to list items in the List Library file determine the order of list choices. For more information, see List Library Files.
You must select the Use threshold value checkboxes described at the end of this table for other properties under this heading to be applied.
When you click a color property, a drop-down control appears. Clicking it opens the same window as clicking the color control. For more information, see Using the Color Control.
When you click a font property, the font control becomes available so that you can open the Font window. For more information, see Using the Font Control.

*
If this property and the next are for a text field attached to a list, you select a list item to use as the threshold value. The numeric value associated with this list item is then used to determine whether the item meets or exceeds the threshold value. An example of how these values are used follows this table.
Threshold value low
Any value less than the one entered here is considered below the normal range and should be reviewed. You use Low value properties to set a different background color, font, or text color to make outlying values easy to recognize.
Use threshold value high
Indicates whether to flag any value greater than the one entered for Threshold value high using High value properties.
Use threshold value low
Indicates whether to flag any value less than the one entered for Threshold value low using Low value properties.
Threshold Example
When a text field is attached to a list, the values assigned to list items in the List Library file are used as threshold values. For example, assume that you have a list to which items are assigned the values shown in the table below.
List Item
Value
Low
0
Medium
1
High
2
Very High
3
If High is selected for Threshold value high, the high value formatting specified for both the High and Very High list items are used because their values are equal to or greater than the value (2) for the High list item.
