Working With User Properties
To ease communication and support team-building, you can define custom user properties that are visible to your Organization's members on User Profile pages. For each Organization, you can specify the user properties that members see on each others' profiles and the order in which the information appears. You can choose to display any property label and value, including lists of details such as certifications and skills.
It can often be helpful to provide details such as department and job title, geographic location, and areas of expertise. When users can see such details, they can more easily find the best person to contact and ask the right questions to get the help they need. In addition, you can search for users and send Broadcasts based on their user properties. You can also segment analytics by user properties to refine your insights into your Organization's app usage and activity.
User property information is loaded into Zinc via the User Properties Import API. This API supports both automated user provisioning and manual updates to user properties and is based on the SCIM protocol, which is a common method of synchronizing user data between cloud service providers. Many employee-management and human-resources systems can communicate with cloud services via SCIM. If you’re already using Active Directory sync with Zinc, and the properties you want to show on User Profile pages are stored in Active Directory, your in-house integration team or the Zinc customer support team can easily configure those properties to appear to all members of your Zinc Organization. Additionally, you can manually update user properties on the Settings tab in the Administrative Console, where you can view the user property keys configured for your Organization and upload a .csv file to update properties for specific users.

In Zinc 7.0 and later, search functionality for User Properties is no longer available.
