Your Service Board Journey
This guide provides you with an overview of how you can use Service Board during a typical day to dispatch Jobs, manage Technicians and Equipment, and monitor Job status and completion.
You can start using Service Board after initial tenant setup is completed. If you previously used Dispatch Console, this process includes a series of implementation steps such as data sync from Salesforce to the Max platform. After data migration and tenant configuration is finished, your system administrator will provide you with login credentials to access Service Board. Many of the features of Dispatch Console plus additional valuable tools unique to Service Board are included.
To get the most from Service Board, start with Navigating the Service Board UI for an overview of the tools and features that enable you to be an informed, focused, and confident dispatcher. As you view the topics in this section, we recommend that you log into Service Board and try out the features and functionality in the UI.
After you get familiar with the Service Board UI, you can move on to learn about Managing and Prioritizing Jobs and Resources. To focus on your unique priorities, you may find it helpful to personalize your environment in various ways. You can customize colors used in the UI to highlight Jobs and Appointments, and tailor time zone settings to your current location. You can then set up custom views to focus on only the Jobs and Resources that are most important or urgent, and to create and manage Crews.
Then, you can start Matching Resources to Jobs by various means. You can use automated features to recommend and schedule the best Resources for specific Jobs, or use manual methods for Scheduling Appointments and Events. You can also import data from popular project-management software applications to create Appointments, schedule and monitor technicians and Equipment, and monitor task status through to completion.
After you schedule work, you can use a variety of tools for Monitoring Job and Resource Status. When notifications and messages appear in Message Center, you can quickly take action to address any issues. You can also view visual real-time Resource and Crew travel routes and locations in the Map tab.
