Working With Jobs
Working with Jobs is a key part of the Resource-matching process. As part of that process, at times you might modify or cancel Jobs, view corresponding Salesforce Work Orders, or preassign Technicians to Jobs.
You can modify the following fields in Job records:
Job Information: Color-coding settings, plus details such as Status and Priority, Type and Purpose of Visit, and the Custodian that owns the Job record.
Scheduling and Assignment: Settings such as Preferred Start Time and Preferred End Time, and Preferred Business Hours. You can also modify Appointment duration and scheduling settings, Scheduler Calendar alignment and Appointment locking, and multi-Resource scheduling.
Service Location: The address of the work location for the Job.
Description: Details about the Job, plus which table columns you want to show or hide in the Job Requirements and Appointments lists.
*
When you modify Jobs, your changes are reflected in the corresponding Salesforce Work Orders.
To allow technicians to schedule their own Appointments, you can assign Jobs to Resources. Preassignment is not supported for:
Jobs that are in non-initial status or that are created from Project Tasks.
Multiple Jobs selected for automated assignment with Schedule Proposals.
Inactive Resources or active Resources that are linked to inactive users.
Crews.
When you pre-assign Jobs, the following fields are updated.
