What's Enhanced
Date Time Enhancements
Technicians use the Date and Date-Time fields to create and edit calendar events and in all other SFM screens.
The user interface for the Date and Date-Time fields is changed based on the operating system of the iOS device to provide a familiar experience to the technicians.
Using the UI mode, technicians can select a time with an increment of 15 minutes. They can enter the exact time by typing within the field.
For more information, see Edit Event.
Calendar Event Enhancements
Technicians use calendars to see the details of the events for a specific date, including the start time and end time on a specific date. When an event's end time is at midnight, it used to extend 15 minutes further to the next date. This led to confusion among technicians who would think it was an event spanning into the next day.
The event schedule behavior is modified to display the event on the same date when the event ends at midnight. It no longer extends to the next date.
For more information, see Edit Event.
Travel Time Enhancements
The travel time for a work order event is displayed in the Calendar and Appointment view screens. When the calendar event is scheduled for more than one day with the travel times to the work order location and back to the home location, the travel time is not displayed correctly in the calendar.
The travel time is enhanced for the following scenarios to reflect the correct travel time:
An event is scheduled for three days, with the first day for travel from the home location to the work order location, the second day for the service, and the third day for travel back to the home location.
The travel time back to the home location is scheduled for two days.
The travel time is enhanced to reflect the correct date and time for the work order events in the Appointment Details screen.
For more information, see Appointment Details.
Configurable Edit Event Enhancements for Drag and Drop Function
Technicians can drag and drop an event on the calendar screen to reschedule the event.
Based on the configuration in Mobile Console, when technicians drag and drop an event, the custom edit event process runs in the background. Also, the SFM configurations, such as qualification criteria, field mapping, formula execution, JS code snippet, data validation rules, and required field checks run in the background. This helps the administrator to configure checks and balances in SFMs when a technician edits or reschedules an event.
The custom edit event applies to Salesforce and ServiceMax Events for work order and non-work order events.
For more information, see Reschedule an Event.
Labels in List View
Technicians use the list view on the View SFM, Explore, and Lookup Results screens.
The list view user interface is enhanced to display labels and the corresponding values for each child record. The labels help technicians to identify the fields in the list view.
The labels and the values are displayed in the Label: Value format for every field configured in the child section, Lookup configuration, and SFM search.
For more information, see Search Results.
