Question: How can I access tasks assigned to me on the Go app?
Answer:
1. Open the Go app.
2. Navigate to the Calendar tab and select an event.
3. Tap on Service Product to view the associated task.
4. Toggle the My Tasks option to filter tasks assigned specifically to you.
Alternatively, access tasks through the work order:
1. From the Event, tap the Work Order.
2. Tap Actions menu and select View Service Tasks.
Question: Can I modify the status of a completed task?
Answer: No, once a task is marked as Complete, its status cannot be changed.
How do I upload attachments to a task?
Answer:
1. Open the assigned task to launch the Task Details screen.
2. Tap Files and select Upload Attachments.
3. Capture or choose a file, then provide a title, description, or markup the photo if needed.
4. Tap Add to upload, and then save the attachment to the task.
Question: Is it possible to delete an attachment from a task?
Answer: Yes, you can delete an attachment.
1. Open a task and go to Files.
2. Long-press and select the file you want to delete.
3. Tap Delete, confirm, and then save the updated task.
Question: How can I update a Work Order or Installed Product record from a task?
Answer:
1. Open the event and tap Service Products to view tasks.
2. Select the task linked to the Work Order or Installed Product.
3. Tap on the Start button or open the task and tap on the configured Edit SFM and make the necessary updates.
4. Save your changes to complete the task.
If you do not see a Start button or configured SFM, contact your ServiceMax administrator.
Question: What should I do if a task requires generating a PDF output?
Answer:
1. Select the task configured with the Output Document SFM.
2. Tap the configured SFM under Actions to generate the PDF.
3. Sign the document if required, finalize it, and save it in the Attachments section.
Question: How can I add comments or notes to a task?
Answer:
1. Open the task details and scroll down to the Actions section.
2. Tap Notes, enter the required details, and then tap Save.
Question: Where can I view details about the Work Order or Installed Product linked to a task?
Answer:
• For Work Orders: Use the three-dot menu on the upper-right corner of the Service Product or Task Details screen and tap View Work Order.
• For Installed Products: Similarly, tap on the Service Product and it will redirect to the Installed Base.
Question: Can I edit attachments uploaded to a task?
Answer: Yes, you can update the title, description, or photo markup of an attachment. Open the Files section, select the file, make your changes, and tap on Update to save the changes.
Question: How can I identify tasks requiring immediate action?
Answer: Tasks are displayed in a configured sequence. Check for incomplete tasks or use the status indicators to identify tasks needing your attention.
Question: What happens if I lose internet connectivity while working on a task?
Answer: Tasks can be updated offline, but certain actions, like generating PDF outputs or syncing updates with the server, require internet connectivity. Smart Sync will automatically upload your changes once connectivity is restored.
Question: How do I view the estimated time to complete a task?
Answer: Open the Task Details screen. The estimated task duration is displayed under the Planned Time , above the Description section.
Question: How can I update the status of multiple tasks quickly?
Answer: You can complete multiple simple tasks at once using the Complete My Tasks option from the Task List view. For any other status update, you must open each task individually, navigate to the Status section, and set the next available status.
Question: Is it possible to reassign tasks to another technician?
Answer: Task reassignment can only be done through the back-office system. Contact your supervisor or administrator for assistance.
Question: What if I accidentally delete an attachment or comment?
Answer: Deleted items cannot be recovered. Be cautious when removing attachments or comments from tasks.
Question: Are task notes visible to other technicians or supervisors?
Answer: Yes, task notes are visible to all team members with access to the task. Ensure that your notes are clear and informative.
Question: What should I do if I face a problem while working on a task?
Answer: If you face challenges or errors with a task, document the issue in the Comments section and notify your supervisor or support team.
Question: Does canceling a blocking task count as meeting the dependency condition?
Answer: Yes. A blocking task that is either Complete or Canceled satisfies the dependency condition. The blocked task is unblocked in both cases. For more information, refer to

Question: Why does the Show Only My Tasks toggle reset when I go back to the task list?
Answer: The toggle is not persistent. It resets when you navigate back to the task list view. Switching between the
Blocked By tab and the Task Detail tab does not reset the toggle. For more information, refer to

Question: Why can't I see the Blocked By tab on a task I completed?
Answer: Once a task reaches Complete or Canceled status, the
Blocked By and
Blocking tabs are removed from the task. These tabs are only visible on tasks that are still active. For more information, refer to

Question: Why does the dependency summary text on my task keep changing?
Answer: The summary updates as the status of blocking tasks changes. It reflects the current state — whether tasks are still blocking your start, your completion, or whether all dependencies have been cleared. For more information, refer to
Task Dependencies.
Question: Can I view tasks assigned to other technicians on my Blocked By tab?
Answer: Yes. The
Blocked By tab shows all tasks blocking the current task, regardless of who they are assigned to. Tasks assigned to you appear first, followed by tasks assigned to other technicians, then unassigned tasks. For more information, refer to
