Creating Work Orders Automatically across Service Modules
You can create different types of work orders using automation engines for different business use cases across ServiceMax Modules. The Admin must set up these engines in each module to automatically create Work Orders. The following are the different types of work orders that can be created in various Service Modules:
• Preventive Maintenance (PM) Work Order: Create
Preventive Maintenance (PM) Work Orders to perform regular maintenance that improves the efficiency and lifespan of Installed Products. These are generated automatically based on scheduled maintenance plans. For more information, see
Preventive Maintenance.
• Field Change Order (FCO) Work Orders: Create
Field Change Order (FCO) Work Orders to apply mandatory product changes, such as recalls or upgrades at the customer site. For more information, see
Field Change Order.
• Depot Repair Work Orders: Create
Depot Repair Work Orders to service defective equipment that is sent to a central repair facility or depot rather than repaired on-site. For more information, see
Depot Service Management.
• Remote Triage: Create a Work Order from an Aquant case to evaluate service issues remotely and suggest the most cost-effective resolutions before dispatching technicians. For more information, see
Remote Triage.
Creating Work Orders via APIs
ServiceMax provides an API-based mechanism to automatically create Work Orders through event-driven web service integrations. This is configured using the
Map to Apex within in the
IoT Setup. For more information, see
