Underschedule
Underscheduling of a work order occurs when one or more events are deleted from a fully Scheduled (where unscheduled duration is zero) state of a work order in such a way that the total duration of the events related to the work order is no longer equal to the Revised Duration.
When you delete one or more events from a fully scheduled work order, the Unscheduled Duration becomes greater than zero and the Order Status field of the work order will be set to default value set in the group configuration setting
SET011 (Order Status to apply when under-scheduling protocol is triggered, module Dispatch Management submodule Event Management). Also, depending on the group setting value
SET013 (List only the underscheduled work order in the grid? Show its Project View?, module Dispatch Management submodule Event Management), the underscheduled work order works as follows:
• If set to Ask user, you will be prompted to decide how the underscheduled work order and its events should be displayed.
• If set to List as the only work order & Show Project View, the underscheduled work order will be listed as the only work order in the grid and all its events are displayed in the Gantt in Project View.
• If set to Just list as the only work order, the underscheduled work order will be listed as the only work order in the grid.
• If set to Do not list as the only work order, there will be no change in the list of work orders displayed in the grid.
The following example illustrates the behavior of underscheduled work order when the setting
SET013 is set to Ask user:
Consider the following scenario where an event has:
• Scheduled Duration: 50 hours
• Unscheduled Duration: 0 hours
• Estimated Duration: 50 hours
• Revised Duration : 50 hours
Now, consider the technician is unavailable to complete the job on the last day of the event which is scheduled for 4 hours, so when you delete the last event of the technician, the value of work order fields will be as follows:
• Scheduled Duration: 46 hours
• Unscheduled Duration: 4 hours
Now, the associated work order is underscheduled and behaves as follows:
• The Order Status of the work order will be set to default value set in the group configuration setting
SET011 (Order Status to apply when under-scheduling protocol is triggered; Module: Dispatch Management > Submodule: Event Management).
• You will be prompted with the following dialog
• If List as the only Work Order & show Project View radio button is selected, the unscheduled work order is listed as the only work order in the grid and all its events are displayed in the Gantt in Project View.
| • The underscheduled work order gets listed in the current view with an asterisk symbol, populating the Work Order Number in the Contains field and this view is only a temporary view, which gets removed on selecting a different view, or filter, or clearing the Contains field, or on reload data. ◦ If Just list as the only Work Order radio button is selected, the underscheduled work order is listed as the only work order in the grid. ◦ If Do not list as the only work order radio button is selected, there will be no change in the list of work orders displayed in the grid. • When the option selected by the user or the setting value requires listing of only the underscheduled work order, it is included in the grid view even if it does not meet the criteria configured for the Dispatch Console view displayed in the grid. |
