SFM Data Validation Rule Use Case Example
Administrators can set up data validation rules so that Confirmation and Error messages display to the end-user when defined criteria are met. An example of a data validation rule is an error message that displays when an end-user selects a Start date that is inconsistent with an End date.
In this scenario, the admin selects an object (such as Work Detail), defines criteria via expressions and advanced expressions, selects Error as a message type, and creates a default message. The default message for this example could be: "Start Date/Time must be before End Date/Time." If an end-user enters a start date or time that is after an end date or time, the default message would display. This example is visually illustrated in Configuring an SFM Data Validation Rule.

If you want to modify a rule message that is already added to the process, you need to edit the message inline in the rule itself.
