Resolving Validation Errors
When validation errors occur in SFM Delivery, the record cannot be saved until the errors are corrected. Error messages identify the fields that contain invalid or incomplete values. To correct these errors, review the error list and navigate to the corresponding fields to update the values.
The steps for resolving validation errors vary slightly depending on the theme used in SFM Delivery. The following sections describe how to resolve validation errors in each supported theme.
SFM Lightning Delivery
To resolve validation errors:
1. Open the record and launch the SFM.
2. Click the error icon next to the Save button.
The error banner displays the list of validation errors detected in the record.
3. Select the field name hyperlink in the error list to navigate to the field with the error.
For child objects, the child tab name appears before the field name.
If a validation rule involves multiple fields, the child tab name appears once followed by the list of participating fields.
4. Correct the values in the fields that contain validation errors.
5. Click Save.
The record is saved after all validation errors are corrected.
Classic Theme
To resolve validation errors in the Classic theme:
1. Expand the error message panel to view the list of validation errors.
2. Select the field name hyperlink in the error message to navigate to the field that contains the error.
Fields with validation errors are highlighted in red.
3. Correct the field values.
4. Click Save.
If a field associated with the validation rule is not present in the page layout, the field name appears without a hyperlink.
Lightning Theme
1. Expand the error banner at the top of the page to display the list of validation errors.
2. Select an error entry to navigate to the field associated with the validation failure.
3. Correct the field values.
4. Click Save.
The record can be saved only after all validation errors are corrected.
