Attachments Configuration
Attachments provide additional information related to the Installed Product or Location records and is a useful way of sharing information that exists in another format. Attachments can include screenshots, images, videos, pdfs and so on. Attachments in Installed Base App Setup page provide an access point to download and view attachments in the Installed Base App. If the global setting GBL037 is enabled, then the attachments are saved as Salesforce files in the server.
Any attachments/files associated to Installed Product or Location records can be downloaded and viewed in the Attachment tab within the Installed Base App. Initial and incremental data sync automatically downloads all the attachments/files associated to the Installed Product or Location records to the Installed Base App. Additionally, attachments downloaded to the Installed Base App can be restricted by specifying the type of attachments allowed to be downloaded and the size of each attachment that can be downloaded.
In order to be able to view the Attachment tab in the Installed Base App, Attachments must be enabled in the Installed Base App Setup page for the group profile.
You can perform the following actions:
Enabling Attachments
In order to be able to view the Attachment tab in the Installed Base App, Attachments must be enabled in the Installed Base App Setup page for the group profile.
To enable the Attachments in the Installed Base App Setup page for the group profile., perform the following steps:
1. Launch the Installed Base App Setup page.
2. Select the required group profile from the Select a Profile drop-down.
3. Click Attachments in the left pane.
4. Select the check box next to Enable attachments to download during sync.
5. Specify the required configuration on the page, as shown in the following figure.
6. Click Save to save the changes or click Cancel to discard the changes.
Settings for Attachment Download
Attachments downloaded to the Installed Base App can be restricted/filtered by the attachment type and size.
1. Launch the Installed Base App Setup page.
2. Select the required group profile from the Select a Profile drop-down list.
3. Click Attachments in the left pane.
4. Select the check box next to Enable attachments download during sync.
5. In the Settings for Attachments Download section, enter the attachment types you would like to download and view in the Installed Base App in the space provided next Download only these file types (comma separated):. Multiple attachment types can be entered separate with a comma.
Attachment types entered are case-insensitive and do not need to be prefixed with a dot.
6. Enter the size of each attachment that can be downloaded and viewed in the Installed Base app in the space provided next to Enter maximum file size to download(MB):.
7. Click Save to save the changes.
If no attachment type is specified, then all the attachment types supported by Salesforce will be downloaded to the Installed Base App. Similarly, if no attachment size is specified, then the maximum size allowed for each attachment is 25 MB.
Settings for Salesforce Files Download
Attachments of type Salesforce files downloaded to the Installed Base App can be restricted/filtered by the file type and size. However this can be performed only if the Global Setting GBL037 is set to True.
1. Launch the Installed Base App Setup page.
2. Select the required group profile from the Select a Profile drop-down list.
3. Click Attachments in the left pane.
4. Select the check box next to Enable attachments download during sync.
5. In the Settings for Sales force Files Download section, enter the Salesforce file types you would like to download and view in the Installed Base App in the space provided next Download only these file types (comma separated):. Multiple types can be entered separate with a comma.
Salesforce file type entered is case-insensitive and do not need to be prefixed with a dot.
6. Enter the size of each Salesforce file that can be downloaded and viewed in the Installed Base app in the space provided next to Enter maximum file size to download(MB):.
7. Enter tags with which the Salesforce file that can be downloaded and viewed in the Installed Base app in the space provided next to Download files containing these tags:. You can specify multiple tags, separated by comma.
8. Click Save to save the changes.

If no file type is specified, then all the file types supported by Salesforce will be downloaded to the Installed Base App. Similarly, if no attachment size is specified, then the maximum size allowed for each Salesforce File is 25 MB.
