Translation Support for Work Plans and Tasks
Translation Support enables administrators to provide translated versions of work plan names, descriptions, task names, and task instructions so that field users view content in their configured language.
Work Plan and Task Management supports translations that enable end users, such as planners and technicians, to view work plan and task details in their logged-in user language. By default, work plan and task details are displayed in English.
Translations are supported for the following areas:
Work Plan Name
Work Plan Description
Task Name
Task Instructions
Task Dependency
In the ServiceMax Setup > Work Plan Management > Manage Translations, administrators can add translated texts for entities of a Work Plan in the preferred language. For example, Work Plan Description. You can also define translations for individual Work Plans from the Work Plan Library.
Based on the configuration, end users can see translated text at runtime when accessing work plans and tasks under Work Orders, Service Products, and the Service Tasks lightning tab, based on their logged-in user language. The translated Task Name is also displayed in the Dependencies section for a task.
If no translations are available, the details are displayed in English by default.
Key benefits include improved usability for global service teams, reduced risk of misinterpretation during task execution, and the ability to manage a single work plan template while supporting multiple languages.
