8. Why do I need the user group assignment feature when I can use the technical attribute templates and template rules to populate the required technical attributes for an asset?
You can use the user group assignment feature to bring in an extra layer of user-role-based access. With technical attribute templates and template rules, you can populate the relevant technical attributes for an asset. However, not all user roles may need to view all the technical attributes. For example, you might want to restrict some users from viewing some technical attributes. You can use the user group assignment feature to achieve user-role-based technical attribute access. For more information, see User Groups.
9. What attributes are displayed in the Technical Attributes view when I select All Attributes?
When you select All Attributes, all the attributes from the associated templates are displayed. Also, the attributes with the values are displayed if they are not associated with any templates. The attributes with values are displayed in the descending order of the Time of Occurrence value and grouped by date. For more information, see Viewing Attribute History Detail View.
10. Why can I see attributes with no values when I select All Attributes?
An attribute is displayed with no values when it is associated with a template. For more information, see Viewing Attribute History Detail View.
11. Why can’t I see an attribute when I select All Attribute even though I have configured it in the Technical Attributes record?
If the attribute is not associated to any template and it has no value, it will not be displayed in the attribute list when you select All Attributes. For more information, see Viewing Attribute History Detail View.
