This section lists the frequently asked questions for Service Contracts.
1. Can I have the past date as a start date while creating a Service Contract from Asset?Yes, you can have a start date from the past. Refer to Create Service Contract from Asset for more details.
2. Can the Service Contract created from Account be used for Asset?The Contract Plan is used for authoring and a Plan is updated on the Asset page based on the condition. Refer to Add Asset to Contract Line Asset List for more details.
3. Is there any limit on the number of Products Assets are associated with?No, there is no limitation. But, if the total number of Assets for a Product is more than 15K, then you may not be able to process them to create a Service Contract. Refer to Add Asset to Contract Line Asset List for more details.
4. Can we add all Assets of any status?Yes, there is no limitation on the status of an Asset.
5. Can we remove any Assets even with an active Service Contract during the authoring process?Yes, you can remove any Asset from the list. Refer to Remove Asset from Contract Line Asset List for more details.
6. Can I have different Contract Plans for the listed Assets?Yes, you can use the same Product in multiple Plans. Refer to Update Contract Plans on Listed Assets for more details.
7. Can the start date be the past while adding Maintenance Plan Templates on Service Contract Plans?Yes, the start date can be the past. Refer to Add Maintenance Plan Template to Service Contract Plan for more details.
