Is capable of performing (UPDM - MODAF aliases)
Creation
To create an Is Capable Of Performing relationship from a Node or Security Domain to a performed Operational Activity or Standard Operational Activity:
From a Node or Security Domain: right-click the element, point to Links, point to All, and then click Performs. From the Links Editor dialog, select the performed Operational Activity or Standard Operational Activity.
From an OV-5 Operational Activity Hierarchy: click the Is Capable Of Performing button, click the Node or Security Domain, and then click the performed Operational Activity or Standard Operational Activity.
From an OV-5 Operational Activity Model : create an Operational Partition that uses the Node or Security Domain as its type, and then within the Operational Partition create an Operational Activity Action that uses the performed Operational Activity or Standard Operational Activity as its type.
Note that moving an Operational Activity Action to an Operational Partition creates an Is Capable Of Performing relationship, and moving an Operational Activity Action from an Operational Partition deletes the Is Capable Of Performing relationship.
To create an Is Capable Of Performing relationship from a Capability Configuration, Organization, Physical Architecture, Post, Resource Artifact, Role Type, Service Access or Software to a performed Function:
From a Capability Configuration, Organization, Physical Architecture, Post, Resource Artifact, Role Type or Service Access: right-click the element, point to Links, point to All, and then click Performs. From the Links Editor dialog, select the performed Function.
From an SV-4 Functionality Hierarchy: click the Is Capable Of Performing button, click the source element, and then click the performed Function.
The source element can be a Capability Configuration, Organization, Physical Architecture, Post, Resource Artifact, Role Type or Service Access.
From an SV-4 Functionality Description: create a Function Partition that uses the Capability Configuration, Organization, Physical Architecture, Post, Resource Artifact, Role Type or Service Access as its type, and then within the Function Partition create a Function Action that uses the performed Function as its type.
Note that moving a Function Action to a Function Partition creates an Is Capable Of Performing relationship, and moving a Function Action from a Function Partition deletes the Is Capable Of Performing relationship.
To create an Is Capable Of Performing relationship from a Service Interface to a performed Service Function:
From a Service Interface: right-click the Service Interface, point to Links, point to All, and then click Performs. From the Links Editor dialog, select the performed Service Function.
From an SOV-5 Service Functionality: click the Is Capable Of Performing button, click the Service Interface, and then click the performed Service Function.
Appearance
When shown on an OV-5 Operational Activity Hierarchy, SOV-5 Service Functionality or SV-4 Functionality Hierarchy, an Is Capable Of Performing appears as follows:
