Operational sequential state (UPDM - NAF aliases)

An Operational Sequential State is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.

To create an Operational Sequential State:

• From an Operational State Description, Operational Concurrent State or Operational Sequential State: right-click the element, point to New, point to NAF, and then click Operational Sequential State.

• From an NOV-6b Operational State Transition Description: click the

Operational Sequential State toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram or within an Operational Sequential State.

When shown on an NOV-6b Operational State Transition Description, an Operational Sequential State appears as follows:

The following relationships are of importance to an Operational Sequential State:

• UML Transitions link an Operational Sequential State to other State Diagram elements (NOV-6b Operational State Transition Description).

• Node Operation elements can be invoked by an Operational Sequential State: right-click the Operational Sequential State, point to Links, and then click Do Node Operation.

• Operational Activity elements can be invoked by an Operational Sequential State: right-click the Operational Sequential State, point to Links, and then click Do Operational Activity.

• Operational State Description elements can be invoked by an Operational Sequential State: right-click the Operational Sequential State, point to Links, and then click Do Operational State Description.

• Standard Operational Activity elements can be invoked by an Operational Sequential State: right-click the Operational Sequential State, point to Links, and then click Do Standard Operational Activity.
