Creation
To create an SV-8 Systems Evolution Description:
• Right-click the
Architectural Description or
Service Description that is to own the SV-8 Systems Evolution Description, point to New, point to Matrix/Table, point to DoDAF, and then click SV-8 Systems Evolution Description.
• Right-click the
Capability that is to own the SV-8 Systems Evolution Description, point to New, point to DoDAF, and then click SV-8 Systems Evolution Description.

• For each exhibiting element, its components are shown in the Exhibiting Element Components column.
If you would prefer to not show these components in the table, on the SV-8 Systems Evolution Description tab of the SV-8 Systems Evolution Description product's Property Pages, set the tagged value of the showComponents tag definition to FALSE.
• For each exhibiting element, the dates of their Increment Milestone and Retirement Milestone elements are shown in the Milestone Dates columns.
Analyzed Packages
For a Capability owned SV-8 Systems Evolution Description, the Analyzed Packages are ignored and only the owning Capability appears in the table.

To create this relationship from a Software: right-click the Software, point to Links, and then click Milestone.
When generated, SV-8 Systems Evolution Description1 appears as follows.
From the table you can see the following:
• Capability1 was found in the analyzed Packages.
• Capability1 exhibits Software1, which has two components named Software2 and Software3.
• Software1 uses an Increment Milestone dated 2015-01-01, and an Retirement Milestone dated 2016-01-01
