Retirement milestone (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
Creation
To create a Retirement Milestone:
From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to DoDAF, point to Project, and then click Retirement Milestone.
On the Select Type dialog, create or select the Project Milestone Type that is the classifier for the Retirement Milestone.
From a PV-3 Actual Project Definition:
Click the Retirement Milestone toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram. On the Select Type dialog, create or select the Project Milestone Type element that is the classifier of the Retirement Milestone.
From an appropriate Modeler pane, locate the Project Milestone Type element that you want to use as the classifier of the Retirement Milestone, and then drag that Project Milestone Type to free space on the diagram. From the dialog, select Retirement Milestone, and then click OK.
After creating a Retirement Milestone you can set its date and values: right-click the a Retirement Milestone, point to Set, and then click Date or Values as appropriate.
You can convert a Retirement Milestone to a Project Milestone, Deployed Milestone, Increment Milestone or No Longer Used Milestone: right-click the Retirement Milestone, point to Convert To, and then click the required command.

Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Retirement Milestone:
Milestone Sequence relationships link a Retirement Milestone to the milestones that are predecessors and successors to that Retirement Milestone. The predecessor and successor elements can be Project Milestone, Deployed Milestone, Increment Milestone, No Longer Used Milestone, and Retirement Milestone elements.
