To Manage Insets in the Insets Gallery
You can add, delete, rename, and change default properties for insets in the insets gallery using the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box. Instructions follow:
1. In the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box, open the Annotation-Insets options pane in one of the following ways:
From the ribbon:
1. Click Home > Insets. The insets menu opens.
2. At the bottom of the insets menu, click Manage Insets. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens and the Annotations-Insets options open on the right.
From the File menu:
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens.
2. On the left, under Annotations, select Insets. The Annotations-Insets options open on the right.

When the gallery is locked you cannot add, edit or delete any insets in the gallery. These are the indications that the gallery is locked:
A lock symbol appears besides the Edit button
in the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box.
The Add, Edit, and Delete buttons appear dimmed in the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box.
The Manage Insets button in the Home > Insets list appears dimmed.
2. Edit the insets gallery in any of the following ways:
Add an inset to the gallery. (See To Add an Inset to the Gallery.)
Delete an inset from the gallery. (See To Delete an Inset from the Gallery.)
Rename an inset. (See To Rename an Inset.)
Change appearance settings for an inset in the gallery. (See To Change the Appearance Settings.)
3. When you are done editing the insets gallery, click Apply to apply the settings and keep the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box open, or click OK to apply the settings and close the dialog box.
To Add an Inset to the Gallery
1. On the right, click Add. The Inset: Edit dialog box opens.
2. In the Name box type a new inset name or keep the default name.
3. Change inset appearance properties in the Inset: Edit dialog box or keep the default properties. (See To Change Inset Appearance Settings.)
4. Click OK to save changes and close dialog box. Click Cancel to close without saving changes.
To Delete an Inset from the Gallery
Select the inset thumbnail image in the gallery and then click Delete.
To Rename an Inset
1. Select the inset thumbnail image in the gallery and then click Edit. The Inset: Edit dialog box opens.
2. In the Name box, type a new inset name.
3. Click OK to save changes and close the dialog box. Click Cancel to close without saving changes.
To Change the Appearance Settings
Select the inset thumbnail image in the gallery and then click Edit. The Inset: Edit dialog box opens. (See To Change Inset Appearance Settings for further instructions.)
