About Variable Group Members and Their Logical Names
All members of a variable group are automatically assigned logical names. The logical name is a pair of index numbers, where the first integer is the main index of the group member, and the second integer is the variable index of the group member. The main index is set in the group’s catalog shape. The logical name of a group member is used to associate it to the member map.
*
The main indexes of both variable groups must be the same when creating group cutaways or copying cutaway formats. If both variable groups have the same number of members but have different main indexes, you must change the main index of one variable group to match the main index of the other variable group.
The variable indexes of the group members' logical names must be changed when removing gaps in a list of logical names after a member has been deleted.
When you apply a pin parameters file, only the index of the group member is included in the CSV file.
